Frequently Asked Questions

  • How much time should I allow for the tour?
  • Two hours

  • How much walking is involved on the tour?
  • Probably less than a mile over the course of two hours, and we have a bar break about halfway through. The pace is to walk a block or so and hear a story, then walk a block and hear a story. The pace is easy and is often done with a cocktail in hand.

  • Should I make a reservation or just show up at your box office?
  • Please do make a reservation, preferably online in advance as we tend to sell out. You can also make a reservation by phone or walk-up. We need to be sure that we have enough tour guides on hand so we are ready for your group. If you come at tour time without a reservation, we can’t guarantee that we will be staffed to take you.

  • Where is your office?
  • 622 1/2 Pirates Alley, behind the Cabildo Museum and next to St. Louis Cathedral.

  • I made a reservation, now what?
  • You should receive an email confirmation that indicates which date and time you have selected. We will be waiting for you fifteen minutes before tour time at 622 1/2 Pirates alley so you can check in with your guide.

  • Do we get to go inside any of the haunted locations?
  • YES – We will visit the inside of a real haunted mansion. We will stop there and see the saloon and old carriageway. We will go upstairs and explore the haunted ballroom, library, courtyard and balcony. The mansion was once an orphanage and is haunted by the ghosts of children, particularly on the stairs and on the second floor.

  • Are we allowed to bring our cameras on the tour?
  • Yes, we recommend that you bring your camera. Many interesting anomalies occur in photos that were not visible to your naked eye while on the tour.

  • Is this tour suitable for children?
  • Yes, while some of the topics we discuss are probably considered PG13 in their gruesome nature, there isn’t any profanity used by the guides.

  • Is this a spook-house?
  • Not at all – this is a walking tour that visits documented, haunted locations in the French Quarter and other locations that are significant either because of ghosts, voodoo, or vampire lore.

  • Do you rent wheelchairs?
  • We do not, but your hotel concierge can make easy arrangements for you to deliver motorized scooters to your hotel.

  • Are private tours available?
  • Certainly, we are delighted to accommodate your private tour. Whether there are 5 of you or 25 of you, we can meet you at your hotel or at our offices and begin your private tour from wherever you like inside the French Quarter. We have great prices on private tours and are a favorite for bachelorette parties and birthday parties (for adults and for children).

  • Does the tour go into the cemetery at night?
  • It does not. Our Ghost Tour locations are all inside the French Quarter. Our Famous Cemetery Tour visits St. Louis Cemetery #1 during the daytime.

  • I have a spooky photo I would like to submit to you, would you like to see it?
  • Yes, please. Send your photos to [email protected]
